The marriage of two brewery lines is bringing the Ribstone Creek product to Lloydminster’s 4th Meridian Brewing.
The deal to purchase Edgerton’s Ribstone Creek closed in December and 4th Meridian co-owner Helen Hoffman says they will be remaining true to the Ribstone recipes when brewing.
“For us just to get started with their products we are going to do the lager and the Old Man Winter, which is a porter. So we are starting with two, but we plan to continue with more of their products as time goes on and we get the space up and running.”
With the closure of the Edgerton operation, Hoffman says they are looking for a property in Lloydminster which can house the combined production facilities under one roof allowing them to brew both Ribstone Creek and 4th Meridian products as well as run the tap room and have outdoor space to hold events. In the meantime, their goal is to keep the product line flowing.
“Getting that space is key and then getting it up and running will be our top priority. But our products – we do have two Ribstone products pretty much ready to go. The lager has just finished packaging and will be ready to hit the shelves at the start of next week and the Old Man Winter is about two to three weeks away from hitting the shelves.”
Hoffman, who runs the brewery with her husband Brad, stresses the need for a new facility to house both beer lines as they expand capacity.
“We need about 6000 square feet for a bigger tap room, brewery and cold room space,” says Brad Hoffman as he quips,”Anybody has a building for sale?”
The Hoffmans see the potential for “significant growth” with the bigger production capacity and the distribution of the two brands.
