There will be a municipal census of the city of Lloydminster in 2015. According to the 2013 census, the population of Lloydminster is 31,483, marking an increase of 3,679 residents or 13.23 per cent from when the federal census was completed in 2011. Of the 31,483 residents who call Lloydminster home, 20,011 reside in Alberta and 11,472 live in Saskatchewan. The 2015 Municipal Census will use software developed by the City of Airdrie for census data collection where residents can respond online. The feature was utilized by 37 per cent of households back in 2013. Next year more electronic devices will be purchased, the number of enumerators will be staffed and a census coordinator will be hired due to the growth of the city. The estimated cost to complete thecensus is $65,000. The city has conducted a municipal census every second year unless it coincides with the federal census. Â
