Lloyd Co-op expansion coming to Hwy 17 south location

A new Lloydminster Co-op car wash along with space for future retail development is to take shape at the cooperative’s Highway 17 south facility.

Officials say the location at 12 Street and 50 Avenue will see a car wash that includes both automatic and wand wash bays, a pet wash, and small convenience store.

“We’re once again affirming our commitment to invest right here at home where it matters
most,” says Peter Brown, Lloyd Co-op CEO. “Lloyd Co-op has served local members in this region for almost 110 years, and we’re excited to continue our path of service with the south side announcement. Members own the Co-op, and a wand wash and automatic car wash offering will blend beautifully with our existing products and services. As our community continues to grow, the additional space allows for future retail development.”

The facility’s features include:

  • Ten-bay barn style wand wash with in-bay vacuum systems crafted for the do-it-yourself customer
  • Two-bay, touchless automatic system
  • Self-serve pet wash units
  • A small convenience store

Planners anticipate to break ground in early 2023 and open the facility in 2024.

Gerry has lived in Lloydminster since winter 2010. That detail is important as coming from the Caribbean he did not see green grass until May. Now an Alberta/Western Canada resident, you would be hard-pressed to find a stronger proponent of Lloydminster than the news guy that appreciates a healthy dose of rock music and dress code leather. His mantra is focus on one thing and do it well.
