Tools worth $250K returned following theft

A Lloydminster business owner is grateful that their stolen tools worth $250,000 have been returned.

On Jan. 24 between three and four o’clock in the morning, Lloydminster RCMP reported that a suspect committed the heist from a vehicle that was parked overnight at the local business located in the area of 44 Street and 56 Avenue.

Investigators after looking at the video surveillance determined one person dressed in black clothing entered the parked vehicle, took the tools, then drove away in another vehicle. The licence plate of this vehicle was not clear in the video recording.

Later that day, the business received an anonymous phone call stating that the tools had been returned. The items were found beside the truck where they had originally been taken from.

Police say that the owner was very happy to receive the recovered tools, as it would have been detrimental to their small business to have to replace them.

Lloydminster RCMP continue to search for the suspect in this matter. If you have any information regarding this crime, or have information on the identity of anyone involved, please contact the Lloydminster RCMP at 780-808-8400. If you wish to remain anonymous, you can contact Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477 (TIPS).
