Saskatchewan Winter Games begin Sunday

Several Lloydminster and area athletes will be getting on the bus to head to Regina this weekend for the Saskatchewan Winter Games which run from Sunday Feb. 19 to Saturday Feb. 25.

Over 15 Lloydminster athletes will be meeting up with those from around the region along with coaching staff as they join Team Rivers West to represent this area at the 50th provincial games. Other communities on the team include Maidstone, Marshall and Unity.

Sporting disciplines include figure skating, badminton, artistic swimming, curling, futsal, alpine skiing, target shooting and wrestling.

The city of Lloydminster has indicated that teams will be leaving from the region to travel to Regina as detailed below:

1st Half – Sunday, February 19th, 2023 – Bus #1

     Pick up @ North Battleford (Gold Eagle Lodge – hotel parking lot)  10:30am CST  – 30 athletes/coaches/managers

     Pick up @ Saskatoon (Grass Woods Esso parking lot)  12:30pm CST  – 19 athletes/coaches/managers

     Arrive at University of Regina @ 3:30pm CST

1st Half – Sunday, February 19th, 2023 – Bus #2

     Pick up @ Lloydminster (Servus Sports Centre parking lot) 7:30 am MST (8:30 CST) – 16 athletes/coaches/managers

     Pick up @ Rosetown (AGT Centre – skating rink)  11:45am CST  10 athletes/coaches/managers

     Arrive at University of Regina @ 3:30pm CST
