Man charged with murder of Onion Lake man

Onion Lake RCMP are investigating after being called to the scene of a man in distress, who later died due to his injuries.

On the afternoon of Friday, April 15, RCMP were alerted to a male in possible distress at a residence on the Onion Lake First Nation. Police and EMS arrived and located the adult male, who they then transported to hospital in Lloydminster, before he was airlifted to the Royal University Hospital in Saskatoon for treatment of his injuries.

Following the initial investigation, a male from Kehewin was taken into custody without incident and police subsequently charged 39-year-old, Louis Carson Pipe, with Aggravated Assault in relation to the incident. The victim and accused are believed to have a familial relationship and police are not seeking anyone else in relation to the incident.

On the morning of April 16th, the victim succumbed to his injuries and passed away in hospital. The RCMP Major Crime – North and North Battleford Forensic Identification Section are now helping Onion Lake RCMP with the investigation.
