RCMP say they were called to a Lloydminster business initially for suspected fraudulent access of a bank account and then subsequently arrested a man whom they report had suspected illicit drugs in his possession.
On March 23 at 12:32 p.m, Lloydminster RCMP went to the local business to address the initial matter, however a search of the suspect led to the seizure of about 55 grams of suspected methamphetamine with a potential street value of $3,250 and about 5 grams of suspected cocaine with a potential street value of $500.00.
Matthew Edward Alan Nicholson, 21-years of Lloydminster is facing charges for:
- Possession of a forged document
- Failure to comply with probation order
- Possession of a controlled substance for the purpose of trafficking
Nicholson was held for a judicial interim release hearing where he was released from custody by a justice of the peace.
Nicholson is due back in Lloydminster Alberta provincial court on April 11, 2023.
