City to serve Lloydminster volunteer breakfast and awards on April 22

The City of Lloydminster is casting a call for nominations for its volunteer awards with a deadline of March 31.

This as it announces that the annual volunteer breakfast with awards will be held on April 22, at the Lloydminster Golf and Curling Centre from 9-11 a.m.

The award aspect will be a first with Mayor Gerald Aalbers presenting the recognitions in three categories:

  1. Most Hours Volunteered – 2022
  2. Longest Volunteer Service Award
  3. Honourable Volunteer Service Award

Residents may nominate a volunteer in one of the three award categories on the city’s website by 11:59 p.m. on March 31, 2023.

The event is open to everyone. However registration is required through a volunteer organization or as an individual via the city’s volunteer page or by phone at 780-875-6184 Ext. 2919. That deadline is April 21, 2023.

Gerry has lived in Lloydminster since winter 2010. That detail is important as coming from the Caribbean he did not see green grass until May. Now an Alberta/Western Canada resident, you would be hard-pressed to find a stronger proponent of Lloydminster than the news guy that appreciates a healthy dose of rock music and dress code leather. His mantra is focus on one thing and do it well.
