Onion Lake students receive scholarship awards

Several post-secondary students on the Onion Lake Cree Nation are to receive the winter semester 2023 OLETF scholarships.

This as the Onion Lake Education Trust Fund is rolling out the honours list of scholarship award recipients:

  • Jessica Harper – BD&P Law Firm LLP Calgary – $2,500
  • Kaleb Tyler – Leith Wheeler Investment Counsel – $2,500
  • Julian Chief, Justine Pahtayken, Rae-Anne Harper and Robin
    MacDonald Goforth – $2,500; Ashley Howe – $1,000; Amelia Waskewitch, and Rylin Wapass – $700 – Strathcona Resources
  • Marly Chocan – Inter Pipeline Discovery – $1,700
  • Gerald Chell – $1,200; Dana Muskego – $700 – Agland Equipment scholarships
  • Daniel Carter – $1,200 – C&S Promotions
  • Victoria Harper – $1,200 – CINUP (Johnston Group)
  • Jacey Funk – $1,200; Jamee Dillon – $700 – Kinetic Construction
  • Kaley Wahpenahwasis – $1,200 – Warman Homes
  • Lauren Martell – $700 – TIPI-IMI Insurance Partners
  • Leslie Harper – $700 – Aodbt Architecture
  • Winston Wolfe – $700 – Maurice Law Scholarship
  • Ieshia Littlewolf – $700 – Cenovus Energy
  • Brendon Lewis – $700 – RBC Scholarship

The OLETF also handed out scholarships to:

  • Nicole Waskewitch, Tammy Naistus and Madison Portas – $1,700
  • Christine Tradewell, Liberty Chief, Joshua Dillon, Jaxson Carter, Josie Naistus, Tamara Belly, Bernadine Hoskie, Taley Littlewolfe, Wahlea Harper, Darian Meesto, Christian Martell, Rebecca Quinney and Makayla Gowan – $1,200
  • Shenika Pahtayken, Kesse Stick, Blaire Preteau and Jaeli Bruno – $700

Board chair of OLETF, Matthew Fox on behalf of the board of trustees is expressing gratitude to all of its corporate and individual partners for making the scholarships possible.
