Police seek second suspect for property crime in Vermilion

While one suspect is facing charges before the court, police are still seeking another suspect in their investigation regarding property crime.

Vermilion RCMP are seeking Skye Martin, 30-years of Paradise Valley, who is charged with:

  • Possession of stolen property over $5000
  • Fail to comply with undertaking
  • Flight from police
  • Drive while unauthorized contrary to the Traffic Safety Act

Martin has not yet been located and police have issued a warrant for her arrest.

Vermilion RCMP say on April 27 they got a report of a stolen vehicle from Vermilion.

Police on patrol found the stolen vehicle, however officers report the driver did not stop.

Investigators say they later identified the two occupants within the stolen vehicle and further efforts to find the suspects revealed other matters of failing to comply with conditions.

On May 18, Vermilion RCMP found and arrested one of the suspects, and later recovered the vehicle.

Christian Ruston, 28-years of County of Vermilion River is charged with:

  • Possession of stolen property over $5000
  • Fail to comply with undertaking (3 counts)

Ruston was released on Undertakings with various conditions. He is to return to Alberta Court of Justice in Vermilion on June 19.
