A woman from Lloydminster is facing charges after Vermilion RCMP were called to a complaint of a suspicious vehicle.
On May 23, at about 12:27 p.m., Vermilion RCMP were informed that a suspicious vehicle was parked on Range Road 80 in the County of Vermilion River. Police state that the eyewitness had provided a licence plate and noted there was a woman passed out inside the vehicle.
Investigators determined the vehicle had been reported stolen from Lloydminster several days prior.
After developing a safety plan, officers report they were able to take the woman into custody without incident and the vehicle was successfully recovered.
Megan Hill, 24-years of Lloydminster, Saskatchewan, was charged with:
- Possession of stolen property over $5000
- Operate conveyance while impaired by drug or alcohol
- Refuse to comply with bodily substances demand
- Obstruction
- Fail to comply with release order (4 counts)
Hill was held for a judicial interim release hearing. Following the hearing, the suspect was released from custody on a release order with various conditions and is to return to Alberta Court of Justice in Vermilion on July 17, 2023.
