Canada Day party in the Park

The Canada Day party in Bud Miller Park promises to be lit as the City of Lloydminster has listed numerous activities for the community’s afternoon long celebrations wrapping with fireworks from 11 p.m.

Shuttles will run from the Servus Communiplex for the celebrations at Bud Miller, which kick-off at the Amphitheatre from 1 p.m. with the entrance of the RCMP and dignitaries accompanied by bagpipes.

The entertainment line-up ranges from folk, country, rock, along with cultural pieces from Ukraine, China and a Re-affirmation ceremony.

There will be horse-wagon rides and a petting zoo. Also, the Bioclean Adventure Zone which has axe-throwing, a mechanical bull, a rock wall and other challenges.

The Guardian Fun Zone comprises a train obstacle course, space station, glitter tattoos, toddler town, Toy Story and other kid activities.

The indoor pool will be open with two sessions for public swimming. The event will also host market vendors.

City planners indicate that parking is available at the park and can be accessed via Lakeland College. They encourage residents to bike to the park.

The shuttles from the Servus Communiplex will run from noon to 7 p.m.
