Lloydminster RCMP make several arrests in four-day crime buster

Several individuals are before Lloydminster courts after local RCMP led a four-day crime-busting blitz.

From July 18, multiple police resources were involved in the operation. Investigators say over 30 people were arrested, 65 warrants executed, and 29 new charges laid. Search warrants were executed on a residential property, and two vehicles. Also, a stolen vehicle was recovered and a total of 135 tickets were issued.

On July 19 RCMP led a traffic stop and seized:

  • 120 grams of suspected cocaine
  • 12.6 grams of suspected fentanyl
  • $600.00 in Canadian currency

The driver of the vehicle, Todd Antonenko, a 37-year-old resident of Waseca, was charged with:

  • Possession for the purpose of trafficking – two counts
  • Possession of property obtained by crime for the purpose of trafficking under $5,000

Antonenko was brought before a Justice of the Peace and remanded into custody. Antonenko is scheduled to appear at the Saskatchewan Provincial Court in Lloydminster on July, 27.

On July 19, 2023, in another traffic stop, officers seized:

  • Various drug items
  • Unmarked tobacco
  • $2130.00 in Canadian currency

The driver of the vehicle, Scott Lamoureux, a 29-year-old resident of Lloydminster, was charged with:

  • Possession of unmarked tobacco
  • Possession of property obtained by crime for the purpose of trafficking under $5000
  • Lamoureux was released and is to return to the Saskatchewan Provincial Court in Lloydminster on August 21.

On July 20, RCMP found a male-suspect at a rural property, northeast of Lloydminster. The man was wanted on warrants for multiple violent offences. During the execution of arrest, the suspect attempted to flee in a vehicle, but RCMP were able to contain the vehicle and arrest the suspect without incident.

A search of the vehicle recovered:

  • 30.8 grams of suspected methamphetamine
  • $2940.00 in Canadian currency

Lance Harper, a 40-year-old resident of Lloydminster, was charged with:

  • Possession for the purpose of trafficking
  • Possession of property obtained by crime for the purpose of trafficking under $5,000
  • Flight from peace officer

The vehicle passenger, Wanita Harper, a 33-year-old resident of Lloydminster, was charged with the with:

  • Possession for the purpose of trafficking
  • Possession of property obtained by crime for the purpose of trafficking under $5,000

Both Lance Harper and Wanita Harper were brought before a Justice of the Peace and remanded into custody. They are scheduled to appear at the Saskatchewan Provincial Court in Lloydminster on July 27.

On July 21, RCMP executed a search warrant at a home near 47 Avenue and 39 Street in Lloydminster. During the search, RCMP seized:

  • Two grams of suspected methamphetamine
  • 26 grams of suspected fentanyl
  • $220.00 in Canadian currency
  • Bolt action rifle

Fifty-two-year-old David Erick, 32-year-old Melanie Myo and 37-year-old Dorian Taylor, all from Lloydminster were charged with:

  • Possession for the purpose of trafficking suspected fentanyl

Meanwhile Dorian Taylor is charged with:

  • Possession for the purpose of trafficking suspected methamphetamine

David Erick, was also charged with the with:

  • Careless storage of a firearm

David Erick and Melanie Myo were released from custody and have their next court appearance on August 28, at the Saskatchewan Provincial Court in Lloydminster.

Dorian Taylor was brought before a Justice of the Peace and remanded into custody. Taylor is scheduled to appear at the Saskatchewan Provincial Court in Lloydminster on July 27.

“The searches, seizures, and arrests of involved individuals was a result of the cumulative work of our units from both sides of the border.” says Acting Insp. Brian Nicholl – Detachment Commander Lloydminster RCMP. “Our officers will continue to use appropriate tactics, resources and technology to target these repeat offenders who cause the most harm to our communities.”

The Lloydminster Crime Reduction Unit (CRU), Lloydminster General Investigations Section (GIS), Lloydminster Police Dog Unit (PDS), Eastern Alberta CRU, Vermilion Traffic Unit, RCMP Air Services, North Battleford Crime Reduction Team and Lloydminster Bylaw Enforcement, teamed up for the four-day operation which officials say targeted gangs, drugs and repeat offenders.
