Under 365-days to Saskatchewan Summer Games in Lloydminster

In just under one year, the long-awaited return of the Saskatchewan Summer Games will be underway in Lloydminster.

Organizers note the last games were held in Estevan in 2016, then the pandemic canceled Lloydminster’s 2020 effort. But the sport community is keen to return to action in the Border City.

Host organizing committee co-chairs Wendy Plandowski and Aaron Rawlake are expressing their desire for the provincial showpiece. “We are very excited for the province to visit Lloydminster in one year’s time to celebrate the province’s top young athletes and to showcase our city and all it has to offer,” says Rawlake.

Plandowski adds, “The 2024 Games will be a true community celebration. We are so fortunate to have such an engaged community and the support of local businesses who are eager to invest in our province’s future. It takes the efforts and support of many to make the Games a success, and we will be sharing how folks can get involved soon.”

The games will require over 1000 volunteers and the clarion call is expected to go out in early 2024, say organizers.

In June, Teine Energy was announced as the presenting sponsor for the 2024 Saskatchewan Summer Games to be held in Lloydminster from July 21-27.
