Alberta is observing Local Food Week, Aug. 14-20, wrapping up with Open Farm Days this weekend.
Over 100 farms in the province will be opening their barn doors for the weekend celebration including Chatsworth Farm, north of Vermilion. They will participate on Saturday only.
Ag officials say that Albertans can visit a farmers’ market, go to a U-pick farm, choose foods at the grocery store with the Made in Alberta label, use the #ABLocalFood hashtag on social media or plan an Open Farm Days visit.
