Credit union members face merger proposal

Servus Credit Union and connectFirst are asking their members if they wish to join hands going forward.

Members of the two credit unions will decide on whether to come together when voting opens on Sep. 19.

The marriage could see the new credit union having over $30 billion in assets under administration, more than 3,000 employees, about 500,000 members and over 140 branches in 80 Alberta communities, say officials.

With the slogan “greater together” members are being invited to open house meetings in each community across Alberta.

An open house session is planned for Lloydminster at the Lloyd Ex on Sep. 6 between 6-8 p.m.
