Some students with the Lloydminster Public School Division will be getting school supplies as fans of the Lloydminster Bobcats have stepped up with the goods for the new school term.
Following a donation drive across the city that included fans bringing in supplies at one of the exhibition games, Bobcats players were able to bring a trunk full of binders, crayons and other school necessities to the LPSD cause.
Kade Fendelet who plays centre for the AJHL team, thanked the fans saying it feels great to give back to the community.
“Junior hockey is not a thing without them (the fans). This opportunity to give back and help out feels awesome. I think this gets the community bought in together – everyone believes, and I think it will definitely help us out on the ice.”
Jason Neville, director of education with LPSD is saluting the Bobcats community spirit and thanking them for the gift.
“This is huge – the support from the Bobcats. The supplies will be shared across all our schools. There’s a need out there, and this really addresses some of that need,” says Neville.
