Health Foundation hosting Blanket Exercise

Reflection on the impacts of colonialism in a safe space is one aspect of a Blanket Exercise.

Several blankets are placed on the floor to represent the land. Participants get to move about on the blankets as they vicariously live the experiences of First Nations, Inuit and Métis peoples, in sharing the history of the relationship between Indigenous and non-Indigenous peoples in Canada.

Event planners with the Lloydminster Region Health Foundation will hold the free interactive session on Sep. 14 at the Gold Horse Casino from 1-4 p.m.

Facilitators are Mike and Cynthia Young and Maverick Haan as the European settler.

Organizers add space is limited and anyone wanting to participate needs to call the LRHF at 306-820-6161 by Sep. 8.
