Participants have been busy registering across Alberta and in Lloydminster for the annual Step n’ Stride fundraiser for Parkinson’s awareness this weekend.
The illness affects one in 500 Canadians and some 10,000 Albertans.
Locally, teams will meet up Saturday at Picnic site #2 at Bud Miller Park from about 9 a.m. A welcome will follow at 9:30 a.m. with the walk in five, three, and one-kilometre segments starting at 10 a.m.
A barbecue lunch will follow from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m.
The provincial funds raised will be announced at the end and updated on the Parkinson Association of Alberta website.
