Fuel Good Day returns Tuesday

Motorists can be fueling up and pitching in for school breakfast programs at the same time.

Fuel Good Day is happening again in Lloydminster and area on Tuesday Sep. 19.

Five cents from every litre purchased will go to Lloydminster Public School Division (LPSD) and Lloydminster Catholic School Division (LCSD) school breakfast programs.

The action will be happening at the four Lloyd Co-op gas bars on every side of the city.

“By heading to the pump on Fuel Good Day, our community fuels our students, giving them the gift of being ready to learn. LPSD is grateful for the thousands of breakfasts and lunches this community initiative provides,” says Jason Neville, Director of Education with LPSD.

Also, the barbecue grill will be cooking for the cause from 4:00-7:00 p.m., to bring added support for rural school breakfast programs:

  • Ironwells Co-op Gas Bar (east): Hillmond Central School
  • 18 Street Crossing Co-op Gas Bar (south): Neilburg School
  • Hampton Square Co-op Gas Bar (west): Kitscoty Elementary School
  • North Stop Co-op Gas Bar (north): Marwayne Jubilee School

This is the seventh year of the promotion organized by the Lloydminster and District Co-op and officials note nearly $50,000 has been raised for both city and rural breakfast programs.

Gerry has lived in Lloydminster since winter 2010. That detail is important as coming from the Caribbean he did not see green grass until May. Now an Alberta/Western Canada resident, you would be hard-pressed to find a stronger proponent of Lloydminster than the news guy that appreciates a healthy dose of rock music and dress code leather. His mantra is focus on one thing and do it well.
