UPDATE: Suspects in custody

UPDATE: Lloydminster RCMP advise that Braidy Pardy and Matthew Nicholson have both been arrested as of Sep. 29.

Lloydminster RCMP say do not approach as they alert the public in the hunt for two suspects and seek information on their whereabouts.

This follows a report in which police say two victims were kidnapped at gunpoint.

On Sept. 21, 2023, Lloydminster RCMP received a complaint regarding the kidnapping. One victim was able to break free and report the incident to police. Both victims are currently safe and police are continuing to investigate the incident.

The RCMP have issued an arrest warrant for 28-year-old Braidy Pardy and 21-year-old Matthew Nicholson.

The two suspects have each been charged with:

  • Kidnapping
  • Forcible confinement
  • Aggravated assault
  • Multiple other firearm offences

RCMP think Pardy may be in the Edmonton area, but has ties to multiple communities around eastern Alberta.

Braidy Pardy is described as:

  • Medium complexion
  • Six foot three inches tall
  • Weighs 215 pounds
  • Brown hair and blue eyes

Matthew Nicholson was seen on the evening of September 21, in Lloydminster but remains at large. Nicholson has ties to the Calgary, Edmonton, and Lloydminster areas.

Matthew Nicholson is described as:

  • Light complexion
  • Five feet eight inches tall
  • Weighs 130 pounds
  • Brown hair and blue eyes

Braidy Pardy and Matthew Nicholson are both considered armed and dangerous. If seen, Do Not Approach, please call 911 or your local police.

Anyone with information on the whereabouts of the suspects is asked to call Lloydminster RCMP at 780-808-8400. If you wish to remain anonymous, you can contact Crime Stoppers at 1-800-545-8477 (TIPS).
