The family of a teenager has been notified by RCMP after the vehicle in which he was a passenger was involved in a collision on Highway 17, south of Onion Lake.
Maidstone RCMP say on Oct. 3 at about 10:15 p.m., an SUV struck a deer, then collided with a car. A 16-year-old male passenger from Lloydminster, who was in the car was declared deceased by EMS at the scene.
The driver and passenger in the SUV, as well as the driver and two additional passengers in the car, were taken to hospital with injuries described as non-life-threatening.
Maidstone RCMP continue to investigate with the assistance of a Saskatchewan RCMP collision reconstructionist.
