Cowboy hats theme for Lakeland Rustlers women’s hockey game, Friday

Bring out the cowboy hats and cowbells to the Russ Robertson Arena, Friday as the Lakeland College Rustlers women’s hockey team host Olds College Broncos for back-to-back games.

The women’s hockey program enters its second weekend at home with three wins and one defeat in the early games for the regular season. Those wins include a pair against Red Deer.

The Lakeland College Apex Automation Rustlers are promising some Rustlers swag for those wearing western wear and a country music playlist to rock the barn and drum out the opposition.

On Saturday, Oct. 21, the hockey program will make more noise for mental health. The women hockey players are encouraging supporters to bring their noisemakers and help spread awareness to end the stigma surrounding mental health illness and treatment.

The opposition, Olds Broncos will be facing the music again on Saturday. Puck drop is at 7 p.m. on Friday and 2 p.m. on Saturday.
