Environment Canada has issued a special weather statement that includes Lloydminster and area. Lloydminster is at a 30 per cent chance beginning tonight as the first significant snowfall of the season is expected over parts of Alberta.
Snow will develop over west-central Alberta tonight and move towards the east and south on Monday. Snowfall amounts will vary greatly across the province due to initially warm ground temperatures and the duration of snowfall over some regions.
Central Alberta:
Timing: Snow will begin tonight and end by Tuesday morning.
Total snowfall amounts: 2 to 5 cm.
Southern Alberta:
Timing: Snow will begin on Monday and end by Tuesday evening.
Total snowfall amounts: 5 to 15 cm. Higher amounts are possible along the eastern slopes of the Rocky Mountains and in the mountain parks.
