Parkinson’s Walk ‘n Stride set for Saturday in Bud Miller

Parkinson’s Alberta is hoping to top last years total of $28,000 at this year’s Walk ‘n Stride event in Lloydminster. The event happens Saturday at Bud Miller Park to help raise awareness and funds for research on this progressive motor disease which can hit anyone at any age. Communications Coordinator for Parkinson’s Alberta Brandi Labonte tells Goat News this is the largest event of the year for the organization and accounts for 55% of their yearly revenue.
There is a Parkinson support group in Lloyd which meets on the 3rd Tuesday of every month from 7-9 at Lakeland College. Registration for Saturday’s walk begins at 10 AM with the walk starting at 11.
