On Wednesday afternoon a suspect wanted on a Canada-wide warrant was held by Lloydminster General Investigation Section (GIS).
Police report seeing the suspect going into a home in the 4300 block of 32 Street in Lloydminster. Lloydminster GIS, Lloydminster Police Dog Services, Lloydminster RCMP, and Kitscoty RCMP combined to secure the residence.
Police also evacuated several homes within the area. They indicated that they believed someone may have a firearm. Several people exited the residence and were taken into custody, but one male remained inside and refused to exit. Several hours later, the remaining male exited the residence and was taken into custody without incident.
Michael Patrick Hill, 25-years of Lloydminster was arrested on his outstanding warrant.
Police say when they searched the suspect, they found more than an ounce of Cocaine and an ounce of Methamphetamine and additional evidence of drug trafficking.
Hill has been charged with Trafficking in a Controlled Substance.
The suspect was remanded by a Justice of the Peace and is to return to the Saskatchewan Provincial Court in Lloydminster on Nov. 21.
