City Council approves $103 million spending for 2024 with five per cent tax hike

Lloydminster City Council has passed the 2024 budget with a total of $102,898,485 in operating expenditures and a five per cent rise in municipal taxes.

The spending bill was approved at Monday’s council meeting with a taxation levy of
$45,749,764 and a one per cent mill rate increase to support the infrastructure deficit gap.

With the taxes, the city says it will cost an extra $8 per month on a residential property assessed at $350,000, and an added $2 per month on the same property to fund the infrastructure gap.

The budget is premised on an operating revenue of $57,148,721 and capital revenues of $64,482,503.

Council also accepted the operating plans for 2025, 2026, and 2027, and the 10-year capital plan.
