Lloydminster RCMP hosting career sessions on Dec. 15

How about a career in the RCMP as your Christmas gift this season? That’s the offer being posed in several communities including Lloydminster as members will be hosting two career sessions on Dec. 15.

Staff Sgt. Brian Nicholl who heads the Lloydminster RCMP, has served for over two decades in seven different places. He sees it as a great career allowing him to see Canada and experience different cultures.

“It’s been an amazing career. We are an organization of around 30,000 people with all our civilian staff. It’s a large organization, but such a small community once you get in it. The diversity and the ability to do different things – each day is a different experience.”

Nicholl says by living in different places his family has benefitted from learning Indigenous languages.

Coffee with a Recruiter is planned from 3:00- 5:00 p.m. at Second Cup- #5, 1404 50th Avenue, Lloydminster.

A career presentation is on at 6:00 p.m. at Lakeland College- Allan Markin room, 2602 59 Avenue, Lloydminster.

Members from the RCMP will be present to answer questions on a career in the service and everyone is welcome to attend.

For those unable to make it please contact Cst. Melanie Flynn at the Lloydminster RCMP detachment, (780) 808-8300.

Gerry has lived in Lloydminster since winter 2010. That detail is important as coming from the Caribbean he did not see green grass until May. Now an Alberta/Western Canada resident, you would be hard-pressed to find a stronger proponent of Lloydminster than the news guy that appreciates a healthy dose of rock music and dress code leather. His mantra is focus on one thing and do it well.
