Vermilion RCMP have laid charges against two people from the County of Vermilion in an investigation into stolen property.
On Dec. 12, police were called to a rural home after a report was made about possible stolen property.
Vermilion RCMP, along with the assistance of Traffic Services and Kitscoty RCMP found two vehicles that had been reported as stolen along with controlled substances, a rifle, and ammunition.
Police laid charges against two suspects.
Nicholas Desrochers, 31-years, was arrested and charged with:
- Possession of stolen property over $5000
- Possession of a firearm or ammunition contrary to prohibition
- Possession of a firearm knowing he was not the holder of a licence
- Unsafe storage of a firearm
- Failing to comply with a release order
- Possession for the purpose of trafficking methamphetamine
Keisha Sharp, 27-years, was also arrested and charged with:
- Possession of stolen property over $5000
- Failure to comply with a probation order
- Possession of illegal (non-taxed) cigarettes
Desrochers was taken before a justice of the peace and remanded in custody with the next court date set for Jan. 15, 2024, at the Alberta Court of Justice in Vermilion.
Sharp was released from custody with the next court date set for Jan. 15, 2024, at the Alberta Court of Justice in Vermilion.
