Two suspects from Frog Lake are to answer charges in Lloydminster court after Kitscoty RCMP arrested them for illicit drugs and possession of stolen property.
Kitscoty RCMP were patrolling in Dewberry when they saw a vehicle that was reported as stolen. It was parked outside a local business. CCTV was reviewed which showed a man and woman exiting the vehicle and going into the business.
Police say that further investigations led to the arrest of the two suspects.
Police subsequently seized 78 grams of Methamphetamine and an improvised firearm.
Sandra Marlene Fryingpan, 55-years of Frog Lake, was charged with:
- Possession of a controlled substance for the purpose of trafficking
- Possession of property obtained by crime over $5,000
- Possession of weapon contrary to order
Dominic Berland, 29-years of Frog Lake, was charged with:
- Possession of a controlled substance for the purpose of trafficking
- Possession of property obtained by crime over $5,000
- Possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose
- Failure to comply
- Operation of a motor vehicle while prohibited
Fryingpan was taken before a justice of the peace and released with her next court date set for Jan. 8, 2024, at the Alberta Court of Justice in Lloydminster.
Berland was taken before a justice of the peace and remanded in custody. He is to return to court on Jan. 15, 2024, at the Alberta Court of Justice in Lloydminster.
