The possibility a device that was found in a vehicle parked at Best Buy in Lloydminster might be explosive engaged the attention of police on Wednesday afternoon.
Lloydminster RCMP were investigating an unrelated matter around 3:09 p.m. when officers found the device in a vehicle in the parking lot at 44 Street.
Police say they contained the area out of an abundance of caution while they awaited the arrival of the Alberta RCMP Explosive Disposal Unit.
Investigators were able to determine the device as being nonhazardous and gave the all-clear via email just before 9:00 p.m.
