Several areas in the Midwest will be getting new meters from ATCO Electric in the coming months.
The communities include the City of Lloydminster, Blackfoot, Kitscoty, Marwayne, and Paradise Valley.
The meter upgrade or Advanced Metering Infrastructure, AMI collects data and offers two-way communication between utilities and customers. ATCO says it offers power outage detection for a faster response and restoration.
Some residents would have had the meters installed last summer.
