The City of Lloydminster has voted in favour of the Regional Emergency Management Collective (REMC) agreement with nine municipalities around the border city.
At Monday’s council meeting, the service provision agreement was ratified with a member contribution of $3 per populous model:
The pooled resources will see Lloydminster as the manager of emergency management and fill the role of regional director of emergency management to oversee goals, objectives, and initiatives established by the communities.
Grant funding from Alberta, Saskatchewan, and the Canadian government will also be reviewed, indicates the council documents.
