STF flexes its muscles as school resumes

The Saskatchewan Teachers’ Federation [STF], has started the return to school with increased protests to press its case against its employer in the ongoing contract negotiations.

While Lloydminster schools were not impacted on Monday, that will not be the case on Tuesday, Feb. 27 as both school divisions have cancelled classes. Lloydminster teachers will also be taking action on Thursday, Feb. 29 by withholding noon-hour supervision. Saskatchewan teachers are also refusing to support all extra-curricular activities.

On Wednesday, more teachers’ associations will join in the rotating job action, including some in North Battleford.

Thursday will mark the fourth day this week for job action as both the government’s bargaining team and the STF are unable to agree on class size and complexity issues.
