At Lloydminster Council meeting on Monday, Mar. 11, eight areas in the city were listed under the capital infrastructure projects including the water and sewer replacement program.
Council approved Rusway Construction Ltd. to perform the water and sewer replacement tasks for $1,777,972.50, excluding GST, with a contingency allowance of five per cent for $88,900, excluding GST.
The aging mains and related infrastructure to be replaced include:
- 42 Street between 47 Avenue and 48 Avenue and on 48 Avenue between 41 Street and 42 Street (item 3 in the image with this story)
Construction is expected to start in spring and be complete by Sep. 15, 2024, weather dependent.
The full list of projects listed under the 2024 capital infrastructure include:
- Create 12 Street functional plan from 50-75 Avenue
- Create 75 Avenue functional plan from 12 Street to 44 Street
- Water and sewer replacement (which was approved by council as noted above)
- Construct Landfill cell 1.4
- Bud Miller Park asphalt trail rehab
- Lloydminster Golf and Curling Centre maintenance shop
- Northwest drainage channel construction between 57 Street and 59 Avenue
- Remove the Lake K stockpile from the lake that is being created at the Cenovus Energy Hub entertainment centre
Council also awarded the contract to build Landfill Cell 1.4 to Brodsky Construction Inc. of Saskatoon, for $3,016,795.90 excluding GST. A contingency allowance of 15 per cent in the amount of $452,519.39 excluding GST, was approved.
