Alberta seniors to get discounts on driver’s licence and other services from April 1

Starting April 1, Alberta seniors will be eligible for a 25 per cent discount on personal registry services like driver’s licences, birth certificates, and vehicle registration renewals.

When resident Albertans 65 years or older visit the registry office, the discount will also apply to standard plates, and vital statistics products like marriage licenses.

Seniors purchasing personal registry services online through MyAlberta eServices will also be able to get the discount.

Officials say more than 725,000 seniors will benefit with annual savings of $16.5 to $20 million for the 2024-25 fiscal year.

The full list of services being discounted for seniors is available online or by chatting with a registry officer.

His mantra is focus on one thing and do it well.
