A Wainwright beauty representing the True North has wowed the Big Apple to capture a world title.
Maya Ramsahoye with the Miss Canada sash across her gown is now sporting the Miss Queen of the World 2024 title. Maya was in New York from April 21-27 and was crowned on April 25.
“When I would introduce myself as Miss Canada, I would say the True North, Strong and Free,” says Maya.
The make-up artist and Alberta stunner works as a model trainer and international scout for Chan International Agency in Edmonton. With the new spotlight and the glitz from the crown Maya will utilize the accolade to fulfill the obligations of the organization, along with her platform, EveryBody.
“It’s an emphasis on the body. So, I run charity fashion shows all over Alberta. I ran one about three weeks before I went to New York. It’s where I get to work with people, and invite them into the modelling industry. It’s a confidence builder. An empowerment platform. So, I really wanted the title to continue my work and take it global.”
Maya will also build on the win through her company Mirror Consulting which does make-up artistry. The new Queen of the World will get to travel the globe to crown other women who will in the next 12 months aspire to be the next global ambassador for the franchise.
On the home front, some of her next steps will include expansion activities with Chan International and pitching in for the upcoming Wainwright Parade and Stampede.
“I am just really excited to get back home to my local roots and say that someone from Wainwright was able to win an international title,” says Maya.
