4H Expo features at Lloyd Ex, Jun 1-3.

Twenty-one youth clubs in the 4-H program will get to show off their hard work and compete at the 4-H Expo at the Lloyd Ex from June 1 – 3.

The project displays include cow/calf, heifer, steer, light horse, and multi-projects, which range from rabbits, and archery to lamb among others.

From inception, 4-H remains a way to provide hands-on learning for youth. Its focus is skill development, teaching responsibility, and creating a well-rounded experience for its members, with its motto, “Learn to do by doing.”

This year, there will be over 260 youth participating with 304 head of livestock. The Grand Opening will focus on celebrating “4H is Fun” and will take place on Sunday, June 2 at noon.

The Lloydminster Agricultural Exhibition Association is inviting everyone to come out and support the hard work of the youth of Lloydminster and area.

The showpiece will conclude with the steers and market lambs’ sale on Monday, June 3 at 2:00 p.m.

Gerry has lived in Lloydminster since winter 2010. That detail is important as coming from the Caribbean he did not see green grass until May. Now an Alberta/Western Canada resident, you would be hard-pressed to find a stronger proponent of Lloydminster than the news guy that appreciates a healthy dose of rock music and dress code leather. His mantra is focus on one thing and do it well.
