STARS gets new air ambulance

STARS Air Rescue Services out of Saskatoon have received a significant upgrade. The rescue service has received a new helicopter, paid for through a $27 million donation by the Potash Corporation. The helicopter is a top-of-the-line Agusta Wesslin 139, and it offers many advantages for rescue pilots and paramedics, including increased space for medical personnal to work on patients, safety features for pilots, and an increased top speed. Rescue helicopters of this make have been in use by rescue workers in Edmonton for almost a year.
