Beef on a bun for mental health at Western Financial Group

Beef on a bun could well be considered comfort food for supporting mental health, along with a five-kilometre walk for staff at Western Financial Group, (WFG).

Both the Saskatchewan and Alberta offices of WFG will be walking for mental health and holding fundraisers to support Project Sunrise and the Lloydminster Region Health Foundation mental health programs for grades eight and nine in local schools.

Motorists will see about 20 walkers from the WFG office on the Alberta side walking down to the Holy Rosary area and back to their office, near the Sobeys. There will be two groups on the move. One will be around 8:30 a.m. and another group will head out around 10:30 a.m. The route starts from the Alberta office at 4221 – 75 Ave. to 70 Ave. Then heading towards Holy Rosary High School, passing the school along 39 St. to 36 St. Then along 59 Ave. (ring road) to Bud Miller Entrance, and then back to the office.

The Saskatchewan WFG office will walk from their location at 3001 – 50 Ave. down to 49 Ave. They will walk north along 49 Ave. crossing Highway 16 and heading to 48 St. Then over to 50 Ave. (main street). They head back to Highway 16 and down to 49 Ave., then back to the office.

The Alberta WFG will host beef on a bun from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m., and the Saskatchewan WFG will have lemonade on sale at its location. All proceeds go towards Project Sunrise mental health school programs.

The walk coincides with the Western Financial national support the cause where the group chooses to support a community charity with a five-kilometre walk.
