The June 22 event in Edmonton will see some 60 teams race down the Queen Elizabeth Park Road in boxcar contraptions designed for the brave, bold, and bananas.

Randy Cusack and Team Oil City Rollers are prepping their ride for the trek and want the local community’s vote to win the People’s Choice Award for best ride.

The five-person team includes Cusack’s wife Jennifer, his father Dale, his brother Jon, and a family friend, Jenn. They will channel their inner “Madmax” and have designed costumes in keeping with that movie’s post-apocalyptic genre.
