The Lloydminster Citizens on Patrol Society or COPS will be getting a Speed Radar Sign with funding from the City of Lloydminster Photo Radar Reserve to assist with reducing speeding in school and playground areas.
The city will invest $5,192.25 for the SafePace Evolution Speed Radar Sign which will measure the speed of an approaching car and post it on the sign board for the driver to be aware.
COPS has been hosting pop-up speed monitoring in school areas and the sign, along with pylons to direct traffic around the equipment, high visibility vests on volunteers and signage to indicate the area is being monitored will assist in the effort.
