From Monday, June 10, the Saskatchewan Teachers’ Federation, STF will begin work-to-rule job action in the latest twist of the contract negotiations with the province.
Apart from the loss of extra-curricular activities, some schools like Maidstone High School and, Paradise Hill have adjusted start, and end times for elementary and high school and changed the bus schedule accordingly.
The STF says its members will observe a restricted workday by:
- Arrive at work 15 minutes before the start and leave 15 minutes after the regularly scheduled school day ends
- Complete withdrawal of all extracurricular services
- Withdrawal of all voluntary services including noon hour, before and after school activities. Members will leave their place of work during the noon hour
The government bargaining team has insisted on going to binding arbitration, but the teachers’ team wants the deal to be hammered out at the table.
Teachers have voted on two occasions to reject the deal being offered by the province.
