Lloydminster, Wainwright suspects held after Wainwright Canadian Tire break and enter

Two suspects are due in Wainwright court to answer various charges after they were arrested in the wake of a break-and-enter at the Wainwright Canadian Tire.

On June 8, 2024, Wainwright RCMP responded to a break-and-enter at the local Canadian Tire. Two men were in the store at the time of the complaint and were confronted by the owner. Police say one suspect fled the scene while the other got into an altercation with the owner. Police officers arrested the suspect and, after further investigation, found and arrested the second suspect.

Shane Peter Comerford, 44-years of Wainwright is charged with:

  • Robbery
  • Break-and-enter
  • Disguised with intent to commit an offence
  • Obstruction of a peace officer
  • Theft under $5000

Justin Kurtis Repp, 28-years of Lloydminster, SK, was charged with eight offences including:

  • Robbery
  • Break-and-enter
  • Assault with a weapon
  • Possession of property obtained by crime under $5000
  • Possession of break-in instruments

Comerford and Repp were brought before a justice of the peace. Comerford was released on conditions while Repp was remanded into custody. They are to return to the Alberta Court of Justice in Wainwright on June 20.
