Province invests over $8 million in two new U of S programs

About $8.1 million is being invested to create the Occupational Therapy Program and Speech-Language Pathology Training Program at the University of Saskatchewan.

The Saskatchewan government sees the programs as providing more options for Saskatchewan students to train in the province.

“Our post-secondary institutions play key roles in helping address provincial labour market needs and achieving our Growth Plan goals,” Advanced Education Minister Colleen Young said. “Establishing these programs in-province will allow more students to train closer to home and make it easier to retain our grads here in Saskatchewan.”

The new two-year Masters programs will accept up to 40 students per year starting in Fall 2026.
