Local trio score Synergy Shares Scholarships

Three young people are the recipients of this year’s student scholarships from Synergy Credit Union.

In the fourth year of the Synergy Shares Scholarship program, Drake Wilson, Pyper Bell, and Hailey Wenger have demonstrated exceptional academic performance and a commitment to their future careers, says Synergy.

Each student will receive $1,000 annually for up to four years to complete their post-secondary education.

Pyper Bell from Lloydminster is a Bachelor of Commerce student majoring in Accounting at Lakeland College. Bell said the scholarship will be a positive boost to her full-time college studies, helping her maintain focus and achieve more. She aims to become a certified professional accountant and work towards becoming a chief financial officer.

Hailey Wenger from Lloydminster is enrolled in the university transfer program for a Bachelor of Education in Science at Lakeland College. She noted that the scholarship will alleviate her financial burdens, allowing her to focus more on her studies and pursue opportunities like studying abroad. She hopes to earn a Master’s in Education and make a meaningful impact on Canadian students. Hailey looks forward to becoming a high school biology teacher and volleyball coach.

Drake Wilson from Lashburn is attending the University of Saskatchewan, to complete a Bachelor of Science in Engineering with a major in Civil Engineering. As the recipient of the in-house scholarship for children and spouses of Synergy employees and directors, Drake said that receiving this scholarship will ease his tuition costs, relieve his parents’ financial burden, and reduce his need for student loans. He aspires to design state-of-the-art structures and eventually own his engineering firm.
