The City of Lloydminster will have its residential assessors inspecting properties north of Highway 16 (44 Street) throughout the summer.
City staff will wear identification as they conduct the inspections last done in this area in 2019.
The inspections help inform property assessment values. It considers factors like the property’s location, size, condition, and any improvements or additions that have been made. The process aims to ensure property taxes are fair and equitable and reflect the property’s current market value.
The International Association of Assessing Officers recommends municipalities conduct these inspections on a five-year rotation, says the City.
