The Lloydminster Junior Barons Football season is underway with the young Barons facing a hectic schedule in Saskatoon’s Kinsmen Football League this fall.
The team plays in the KFL Huskies Division for grades 8-9.
“We are new to the KFL so every week will be a learning experience. We expect good competition out of Saskatoon and the surrounding area. Our coaches are working hard at teaching the fundamentals and the necessary football skills so that we keep building as the season progresses. We are focusing on daily improvement,” says Kieran Link, football coach.
The schedule for the Junior Barons has three home games toward the end of the season:
- Sep. 14 – Clavet Cougars (away) – 5 p.m.
- Sep. 22 – Battleford Blues (away) – 2:30 p.m.
- Sep. 29 – Schoenals Titans (home) – 1:00 p.m.
- Oct. 6 – Babineau Warriors (home) – 1:00 p.m.
- Oct. 19 – Knoll Panthers (home) – 1:00 p.m.
The top four teams will play in the semis with teams five to twelve playing in bowl games.
