Lloyd Co-op leads Fuel Good Day next Tuesday

Fuel Good Day, on Tuesday, Sep. 17 is a chance to fuel up and give back to school breakfast programs in the community.

At the four Lloydminster and District Co-op gas bars five cents from every litre of gas goes to Lloydminster Public School and Lloydminster Catholic School breakfast programs.

“LPSD is incredibly grateful to the Co-op for their generous support through Fuel Good Day. The funds raised will go directly to our breakfast programs, ensuring that our students start the day nourished and ready to learn. It’s heartwarming to see how our community comes together to invest in the well-being and success of our children,” said Jason Neville, LPSD Director of Education, as he encouraged everyone to fuel up on Tuesday.

Also, the barbecue grills will fire up from 4-7 p.m., to pitch in for rural school breakfast programs:

  • Ironwells Co-op Gas Bar (east): Marwayne Jubilee School
  • 18 Street Crossing Co-op Gas Bar (south): Kitscoty Elementary School
  • Hampton Square Co-op Gas Bar (west): Neilburg School
  • North Stop Co-op Gas Bar (north): Hillmond Central School

A third way to contribute is by getting the limited edition cookie slice with a dollar from each cookie sold also going to the school breakfast effort.

Both school divisions and school administrators around the region are expressing their gratitude to the Lloyd Co-op and the community for their generosity.

Gerry has lived in Lloydminster since winter 2010. That detail is important as coming from the Caribbean he did not see green grass until May. Now an Alberta/Western Canada resident, you would be hard-pressed to find a stronger proponent of Lloydminster than the news guy that appreciates a healthy dose of rock music and dress code leather. His mantra is focus on one thing and do it well.
