Cat’s semifinal spot hangs in the balance

The Lloydminster Bobcats had another disappointing finish Tuesday night at the RBC Cup.

Though no one could fault the effort, coming back from 4-1 to finish 4-3, the Bobcats came up short once again and are now in a tight spot to potentially squeak into the semis. Bobcats Head Coach Gord Thibodeau says he was pleased with the team’s effort, in spite of the loss.

“We worked hard tonight, but we made a couple mistakes, the third goal hurt, but like I said, not displeased with how we played,” said Thibodeau.

“Another strong effort by us”

The Lloydminster Bobcats play their final game of the preliminary round tonight at 7:30, against the Trenton Golden Hawks. Early in the day, the Carleton Place Canadians will take on the Brooks Bandits for a 3:30 puck drop at the Centennial Civic Centre. If Carleton Place loses, it guarantees the Bobcats a spot in the semifinals regardless of the result of their game tonight against Trenton.
